June: Currently

This is my first currently linky party with Oh' Boy 4th Grade
I am so excited to join in on this currently party!

Listening: I am currently listening to The Book of Mormon soundtrack. My ears have been glued to this CD for weeks now.  I bought my husband tickets for Valentine's Day, and now the performance is finally just days away! I think I have every word to every song memorized.  (music teacher here)

Loving: I am loving that I just finished my last Monday of the school year.  After our many snow days (14...yikes), we will finally be on summer break.  It couldn't get here soon enough! Even though I have been tearing up as I tell my 5th graders goodbye, I am ready for some relaxing and family time.

Thinking: I am currently thinking, and day dreaming, about my exciting weekend ahead.  Not only will my husband and I be seeing the musical, we will also be eating at one of my favorite restaurants, Proof on Main.  I have only been there once, but it was the best meal I have ever had.  It is one of those places that is just for special occasions :)  Then on Sunday, I will be hosting one of my best friend's bridal showers.  I've had lots of secrets up my sleeve that I can't wait to finally share with her.  The shower also means her beach wedding is only 6 weeks away.......I can hear the waves calling my name.

Wanting: I am currently craving a half and half cherry and green apple Tropical Snow.  The owner of the shack makes my snow cone as soon as we pull up.  It has been over a week since I have visited her.  There is definitely some catching up to do :)

Needing: I am needing to write a massive thank you to the Scott County Youth Grantmaking Council.  Tonight I received a grant from the youth group to purchase new instruments for one of my elementary schools.  With the growing numbers of students at the school, I currently do not have enough instruments for each student to participate.  I am so blessed and thankful to be able to purchase new instruments for my students this summer.  It would not be possible without the great youth and leaders in my school district.

Summer bucket list:  My main item on my bucket list is to finish my quilt.  I began a herringbone quilt for my queen size bed.  The quilt top is finished, but I haven't started on the back.  This is my first queen size quilt, and in my little, teeny, tiny house, the quilt takes up my entire living room floor.  It is a rather daunting craft, but I am up for the challenge.

The second item on my bucket list is to get a tan!!!  These white legs need some golden sunshine. They only way to accomplish this is to go to the lake and the beach!  I think I can handle that.

Lastly, I hope to successfully present at my first conference.  I will be presenting with some amazing teachers at the Digipalooza conference.  My dear friends, Tracy South at 4th Grade Dynamic Duo and Lindsey Law at Miss Law's Kinders, will be co-presenters with me.  Luckily we are presenting on things we absoultely love: blogging and TPT!

I hope you enjoyed reading! Have a great summer and see you for the currently in July!!

  1. Congrats on the grant! I use to work in grant administration and know how daunting it is to get awarded a grant. I definitely agree with you about the snow days; it took three months to complete 35 hours thanks to all of the snow. My mom promised me a Spongebob quilt when I was in college (2002) and I never got that quilt. She states she will try to have it done by the time I have kids (I'm not even in a relationship, so she has time lol). I am wishing you the best of luck with your presentation at the conference.

  3. The conference is called Digipalooza. It is part of the Indiana E-Learning tour. Our school district is one of the hosting sites for the summer long professional development. I will be presenting, with other great teacher friends, on Pages, TPT, and blogging! Thank you for stopping by!

  5. Your quilt will be so fantastic! I don't quilt but my mother does and the big quilts are really a challenge. But they all turn out so beautiful! I just know you'll rock your presentation!
